Daza: LEARN TO MAKE A BEADED BALL IN 5 SIMPLE STAGES

Hi guys!

It is another exciting time to bead! YES...to bead and get CREATIVE! So how has your week been? Mine has been really awesome and full of activities to ensure this tutorial comes up for you.

Today’s project is all about steps to making a beaded ball. There are many patterns of beaded balls, this happens to be one of them and this is sometimes called a 90-ball.

Beaded balls are so interesting to make because you could make use of them in various ways: as pendants, as earrings and even combine several balls to form a necklace.

The materials needed for this project are:

Let’s BEGIN

STAGE 1

1.       Cut about 50” of your fishing line
2.       Thread the 2 ends of the fishing line with needles each
3.       String 4 seed beads and interlock with the 5^th seed bead

Right now it’s like we have two strings. Whichever one is on the LEFT is the LEFT String, Whichever one is on the RIGHT is the RIGHT String

4.       String 1 crystal, 1 seed bead, 1 crystal, 1 seed bead on your LEFT string
5.       String 1 crystal on the RIGHT string and interlock with this same crystal.
6.       Pass the RIGHT string through the next seed bead ( what we are working on)
7.       String the LEFT with 1 seed bead, 1 crystal, 1 seed bead
8.       String the RIGHT with crystal and interlock with the same crystal

Repeat steps 6 - 8 TWICE
9.       Pass the RIGHT string through the next seed bead and crystal
10.   String the LEFT with 1 seed bead and 1 crystal
11.   String the RIGHT with a seed bead and interlock with the same seed bead
12.   Pass the RIGHT string through the next seed bead

You should have this: 2 seed bead in between the top crystal beads

You have finished with stage 1..on to stage 2

STAGE 2

1.       String the LEFT with 2 seed beads
2.       String the RIGHT with 1 seed bead then interlock ( we would be forming a circle of 5 seed beads)
3.       Pass the RIGHT string through the next crystal
4.       String the LEFT with 1 crystal, 1 seed bead, 1 crystal
5.       String the RIGHT with 1 seed bead, then interlock with this same seed bead.
6.       Pass the RIGHT string through the 2 seed beads
7.       String the LEFT with 1 seed bead
8.       String the RIGHT with 1 seed bead and interlock
9.       Pass the RIGHT through the next crystal bead
Repeat steps 4- 9 THRICE

Way to go! ..welcome to stage 3

STAGE 3

1.       String the LEFT with 1 crystal and 1 seed bead
2.       String RIGHT with a crystal and interlock with the same crystal
3.       Pass the RIGHT through the seed bead and crystal
4.       String the LEFT with 1 seed bead, 1 crystal
5.       String RIGHT with 1 seed bead, then interlock with this same seed bead
6.       Pass right through the next seed bead
7.       String 2 seed beads on the LEFT
8.       String 1 seed bead on the RIGHT and interlock with the same seed bead
9.       Pass the RIGHT string through the next crystal, seed bead and crystal

Step 9.

10.   String the LEFT with crystal bead
11.   String the RIGHT with seed bead and interlock with the same seed bead
12.   Pass the RIGHT string into the next seed bead
13.   String 2 seed beads on the left
14.   String 1 seed bead on the right and interlock with the same seed bead

Repeat steps 9 – 14 TWICE

You are almost there, 2 more stages left

STAGE 4

1.       Pass the RIGHT string through the next crystal, seed bead and crystal
2.       String the LEFT with crystal bead
3.       String the RIGHT with seed bead and interlock with the same seed bead
4.       Pass the RIGHT string into the next 2 seed bead
5.       String 1 seed bead on the LEFT
6.       String 1 seed bead on the RIGHT and interlock with this same seed bead
7.       Pass the RIGHT string through the next crystal and seed bead

You should have something like this

We are gradually getting to the end of our ball

STAGE 5

1.       String the LEFT with 1 crystal and 1 seed bead
2.       String the RIGHT with 1 crystal and interlock with this crystal bead
3.       Pass the RIGHT into the next seed bead, crystal, seed bead
4.       String the LEFT with 1 seed bead and interlock with a Crystal bead
5.       Pass the RIGHT into the next seed bead, crystal and seed bead
Repeat steps 4 - 5 TWICE, however, for the second time, we pass the RIGHT through the next seed bead, crystal, sand bead and another crystal (4 beads)
6.       String the left with just 1 sand bead and interlock with this same sand bead
7.       Run your fishing line all through the 5 sand beads then tie a knot and cut off excess thread.
